A man torn by his immortal fate,
Would he ever find his love, his life, his mate,
Going through each day, longing for someone,
Longing for this binding spell to be undone,

A woman sitting on a swing,
From her back spring angels wings,
The wind blows through her hair,
Her skin so pale and so fair,

He sees her through the trees,
Breathless he falls to his knees,
Such breathtaking features,
He didn’t know of any such creatures,

She looks up and stares at the wood,
Feeling eyes watching as hard as they could,
“Who’s there,” she asks softly,
But no response, just crickets chirping quietly,

He heard her voice call out,
He wondered what it was about,
Should he go to her and reveal his true nature,
But would she be repulsed at his features,

She jumps off her swing and begins to walk,
Hoping the person would come out and talk,
She gets closer to where he’s at,
Walking stealthy like a cat,

He stands still, unable to stir,
Wondering what he’d say to her,
He peaks his face around to see,
There she was in front of the tree,

She sees his face among the falling leaves,
Scars all over its hard to believe,
“Why do you hide behind that tree,
Is it because you’re afraid of me?”

He looked down away from her stare,
A surge of rage began to flare,
“Do you come over to make fun,
And laugh at a poor, pathetic, unfortunate one?”

“I do not wish to laugh at your fate,
Or partake in the cruel game of hate,
Can I ask one thing of you,
What is your name, or will that not do?”

“You want to know my name,
It’s very common and all the same,
An unusual name that can do the trick
My name is Calic,”

“That is an unusual name,
But not a difficult one to tame,
My name is Gwyn,” she says with a smile
Her hair fluttered for a brief while,

Her smile warmed him to his core,
He’d never felt so alive before,
Her pale skin shining in the faint light,
Her ruby lips, so shiny and bright,

“How did you get so many scars,
Were you beaten or in many wars,
I’m sorry if I’m being too bold,
But you look so fair and not that old,”

“I wasn’t in a war nor was I beat,
But the pain I bore was like a fires heat,
A spell was cast on me by a Seer,
One night while I slept, she did appear,

She saw that I was of wealth and power,
She said ‘If you don’t learn to love another,
And rely solely on your love for money,
Then you can live without anybody,’

She cast a spell on me not allowing me to die,
Scaring my face, but I wondered why,
She did this to me and took everything from me,
Time went by I started to see,”

“What an awful fate that you have been dealt,
I couldn’t imagine the pain you must have felt,”
She walked closer and his scars grew more obvious,
She reached her hand out to feel them, so ominous,

The touch of her fingers on his skin,
Made his heart race, his head started to spin,
To fall in love would break the spell,
If it could happen, only time would tell,

“Can I walk with you, I’ll keep it friendly,
You seem so sad and awful lonely,
If the answers no, I’ll understand,
But if its yes, please take my hand,”

He looked at her, thoughts racing through his head,
Grasping the idea of what she said,
“You wish to walk and talk with me,
I’ll gladly accept your company,”

Time passed, they were always together,
Wondering if they were meant to stay with each other,
She whispered one night in his ear,
“I love you for who you are, and how you appear,”

“Will you be with me forever,
Can we spend our days together,
I’ll protect you from the evils of this land,”
He placed on her finger a wedding band,

She looked at him with tears in her eyes,
Full of joy, happiness and surprise,
“I’ll be with you forever,
As a wife, a friend, a lover,”

One morning she went out into the woods,
To gather wild berries and other goods,
Stooping to pick a bright red berry,
There was a dark feeling that made her wary,

“I know someone’s there, you can stop playing tricks,
Is it you, my beloved Calic?”
Nothing but silence for a long while,
She began to lose her bright smile,

A dark figure stepped out from the trees,
She dropped all the berries and fell to her knees,
Her heart raced and she was full of fear,
The figure revealed itself, it was the Seer,

The Seer looked down at her young face,
Searching for something, but finding no trace,
She longed for everything she had,
Her jealousy making her thoughts run mad,

“Who are you, and why do you appear,
You startled me, I did show fear,
What do you want, please let me know,
Are you a friend or are you foe?”

The Seer laughed and grabbed her side,
This girl she saw was now his bride,
“You are a fool if you think you can free Calic,
Loving him will only cause him panic,

I placed on him a terrible spell,
He thought that love would make it quell,
He was wrong, it takes something more,
I can see why its you he truly adores,

Only by his heart truly breaking,
Will death find him soon and his soul for the taking,
If not, he will live forever through time,
With a never ending cycle, such a crime,”

With tears streaming down her cheek,
She tried to get up but her legs were too week,
“Why would you do that to him, such a shame,
To put him through this awful game,

You are a very wicked being,
You have no heart and have no feelings,
Leave me in peace, let me wallow,
With this news so hard to swallow,”

The Seer looked at her hard and said,
“I’m letting you live, you can keep your pretty little head,
Next time we meet your life I will take,
May you be ready for Calic’s sake,”

With a bright flash the Seer had vanished,
The dark aura was gone and demolished,
Gwyn sat there crying aloud,
The air around her so heavy, like a dark cloud,

She walked back to her place,
With a sad look upon her face,
How would she tell him the lie,
She wasn’t sure, but she had to try,

She opened to door and he was there,
Sitting by the fire in his chair,
He looked at her when she came in,
She wondered where to begin,

“Why do you look troubled, what is wrong,
You look like you just heard a sad song,”
She looked at him, tears in her eyes,
She fell to her knees and let loose a few cries,

“Oh Calic, I learned of something terrible today,
The Seer found me, she had awful things to say,
She said death wont come from up above,
But only by losing the one that you love,”

“What is this that you speak,
It makes my heart tremble and makes me feel weak,
You say I must lose you to death,
Only then can I take my last breath,

If that’s the truth, then I’ll never find death,
I’ll be with you until you take your last breath,
Only then will I die and break this curse,
Because living without you is truly the worst,”

He pulled her to him, with a warm embrace,
Tears flowing freely down his face,
They sat together in front of the fire,
Until long last they did retire,

Two years went by, then three,
They began to feel that they were free,
No visits from the wicked Seer,
Everything was fine, or so it appeared,

They lay sleeping in their bed,
A loud crash awoke them, filling them with dread,
Calic jumped out of bed and grabbed his gun,
To finish off what had begun,

He went downstairs to investigate,
Leaving Gwyn alone, she did hesitate,
With a flash a figured did appear,
Before her stood the wicked Seer,

She let out a scream and tried to stand,
The Seer took her by the hand,
She threw her to the floor,
Gwyn cried out once more,

“I told you the next time we meet,
I’d take your life, oh so sweet,
I let you live long enough,
I never thought your spirit would be so tough,

I wanted Calic all to myself,
So I took away his land and wealth,
But even with his cursed face,
He met you and vanished without a trace,

I soon found him with you,
His spirit kindled and renewed,
You took him away from me,
He was mine, don’t you see?

So now I’ve come to take your life,
You’ll no longer be his loving wife,
This is the end for you,
Also the end of Calic too,”

The Seer took out a sharp blade,
The light around her seemed to fade,
She thrust the blade into Gwyn’s chest,
Her wicked smile did suggest,

The door swung open and Calic rushed in,
To see his wife dying within,
The Seer laughed and looked at him,
“You’re too late, I win,”

Calic cried out and fell to the floor,
His wife clutching her breast once more,
With a bright flash the Seer had gone,
It was true, she really had won,

He crawled over to Gwyn and lifted her to up,
Blood was pooling around them, as if spilt from a cup,
He tried to pull the blade from her breast,
She cried out and clutched at his chest,

“Calic please just leave it be,
Its plunged to too deep within me,
I guess the Seer had been right,
She came to take my life with all her might,

I’m not long for this life,
I’ll forever be your loving wife,
You’re curse will soon have left you,
And you will be freed from this life too,

Don’t cry for me my dear husband,
We’ll be together in death, it will be grand,
I love you with all my heart,
This where I have to part,”

She breathed in heavy and slowly breathed out,
She closed her eyes and without a doubt,
She lay limp upon the floor,
He cried out for his wife he did adore,

He lay down beside her, his heart breaking in two,
He was free from the curse, that he knew,
“Soon we’ll be together as one,
This life is over, it is done,”

He closed his eyes and let out a sigh,
Tears seeping from his closed eyes,
The scars on his face had faded from view,
His immortal curse broken, death taking him too.
This is a poem that I wrote that took me about a month to make. Hope you enjoy it. :D

Woah, that was kind of an epic! I like it, has a kind of Celtic feel to it! :)
